American Auto Trail-Denver & Rio Grande Railroad (Embudo to Taos Junction NM)
This travel route explores the Rio Grande Gorge, a section of the Rio Grande River in northern New Mexico. The route starts at Embudo Station of the Denver & Rio Grande Railroad and ends at Taos Station. Enjoy the deep history of the region while taking in the beautiful and dramatic scenery of the gorge, the Rio Grande del Norte National Monument, and the western Taos Plateau. (Bighorn Sheep are sighted at the 34 minute mark in the video).
