This travel route explores the route of the Choctaw Trail auto trail and old U.S. Highway 271. It begins just south of Hugo, Oklahoma, passing through the community of Grant, before crossing the Red River into Texas at Arthur City. The route parallels the original tracks of the Fort Smith & Southern Railway, which connected Fort Smith, Arkansas, with Paris, Texas.
