American Auto Trail-Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas and Gulf Highway (Melissa to Sherman TX)

This travel route explores the old path of the Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas & Gulf Highway.  The route later became Texas Highway 6 (1917) and U.S. Highway 75 (1927).  The towns of Melissa, Anna, Van Alstyne, and Howe traveled through on the way to Sherman.  The route also parallels the tracks of the Houston & Texas Central Railway, built from Galveston to the Denison.
