American Auto Trail-National Road (White Lick Creek to Plainfield IN)

This episode of the American Auto Trails series explores one of the oldest constructed roads in America, as well as arguably its most important when it came to the settlement of the present-day Midwest. This segment of the road is in west central Indiana, starting at White Lick Creek outside Plainfield and ending in Putnamville.  The National Road later developed into the National Old Trails Road and then into U.S. Highway 40.
