This American auto trail follows New Mexico’s Vietnam Veterans Memorial Highway (New Mexico Highway 371) from Thoreau north to Tsaya Canyon.
This route, through one of New Mexico’s most important pueblo ruin regions, crosses a high flat country bordered with sandstone upthrusts.
The region is cut by arroyos and hills that are sparsely covered with grama grass, pinon and juniper.
