This travel route explores U.S. Highway 82 in northeast Texas, traveling east from De Kalb to Hooks.
This route follows the earlier Southern National Highway auto trail.
As the name suggests, the auto trail crossed the southern United States from the Atlantic Seaboard to San Diego, California.
